Forgive us that this acknowledgement is arriving late, but please know that the sentiment is heartfelt. On behalf of the Board of directors, staff and participants at Mi Casa Resource Center, we would like to thank The Unleaded Group for its hard work in 2009 putting together a video about Mi Casa’s programs. We realize this was a challenging project that experienced some ups and downs but we are absolutely thrilled with the final version for the video and are extremely grateful to both of you and the team at The Unleaded Group for all your efforts.
Mi Casa Resource Center for Women is a non-profit organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; no goods or services were provided in exchange for your gift of in-kind services. The full value of donated in-kind services is tax deductible to the extent of the law.
The first version of the video was shown at Mi Casa’s November 2009 fundraising breakfast, and looking around the room at the many people wiping tears from their eyes was great confirmation of the video’s success. We now have the final version for the video prominently displayed on our website and plan to circulate the video via Mi Casa’s Facebook page, web log, and monthly e-newsletter. We are incredibly grateful to The Unleaded Group with creating this video for Mi Casa, which has been and will continue to be a powerful tool for fundraising and raising awareness of the agency’s important work.
After two very challenging years Mi Casa Resource Center ended 2009 in strong financial position – a considerable accomplishment considering the recession and resulting dip in charitable donations. In the past few months, Mi Casa has secured several new funding streams, including a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor for Green Energy & Construction career training; a grant form the Denver Office of Economic Development to support small business development for Denver residents; and support from Target and United Launch Alliance to support programs for youth and families and to fund afterschool STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities. In 2010, MI Casa will improve the quality of all of our programs and intently focus on evaluation in order to achieve the transformational impact so key to our mission of economic success for low-income families.
It is because of the generous support from in-kind donors like The Unleaded Group that MI Casa is able to provide the low-income individuals we serve with new opportunities to be successful in a career, business or higher education. From all of us here at Mi Casa, THANK YOU again for your incredible support!
Unleaded Productions wrapped a video this week of The Nose Guy performing surgery. The Nose Guy, as he’s known among his peers, is Dr. Jeffrey Raval, American Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and Reconstructive Surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty (nose jobs), especially revision rhinoplasty—surgery to correct a nose job that another doc has botched.
Rhinoplasty is the second most common facial plastic surgery procedure performed on more than 200,000 people a year in the United States. Revision rhinoplasty surgeries are far more complex that first-round nose surgery because of inherent scar tissue.
Dr. Raval, FACS, has adopted a surgical technique using DermaMatrix to ensure a smooth profile even in the case of revision rhinoplasty. Dr. Raval is presenting this new rhinoplasty technique at a surgical conference held in Orlando, FL in February 2010.
Unleaded Production’s Producer Michael Anderson videoed Dr. Raval real-time as he performed surgery on a patient in Denver, CO. Read more on Dr. Raval’s practice at www.ravalmd.com.
Mark Jackson is one of the former Denver Broncos Three Amigos. The ladies at Custer Roberson tracked him down and asked him to be the face of their new ad campaign. Mark was to date, then best talent I’ve shot when it comes to memorizing lines. He didn’t want a tele-prompter, didn’t need it. He hit this entire 60 second spot in about 6 takes. With the extra time we had budgeted we went to grab lunch at snooze.
Andy did yet another kick ass job of design, and now we just need to get the word out. I think it’s an amazing concept. To host your website through the sun. What greener way is there? email me if you have any questions about signing up. I also painted a mural on the side of our off building to get some attention. It’s the giant who fell from the clouds…
So Pam of Beau Jos and I went out to lunch and she told me that she wanted to get the interest of the skiers/boarders in Colorado. This is of course to drive more Apres’ traffic at the Idaho Springs store, but it’s also to connect with the general Colorado theme of things. Pam might be the sweetest woman on the planet. If you are ever in need of any kind of food donation for a good cause, I would suggest finding Pam and I know she’ll take care of you. You’ll see quite a few of the spots I’ve done for her at Denver Video.
RavenWindow is the most cost-effective technology on the market today. Using proprietary, patent-pending nanotechnology pioneered by RavenBrick, RavenWindow’s dynamic thermoreflective filters automatically adjust the light transmission in direct proportion to the surface temperature of the glass. So in summer in direct sunlight, the window takes on the look of dark sunglasses and keeps the heat out, easing the need for Air Conditioning to fight with the heat of the sun. In cooler weather, the window is lighter and allows solar thermal energy in – a big help to a building’s heating plant.
Just finished up a spot for Music Go Round out in Littleton. Erik works for the store and he was a rock star for having never done a commercial before.
This company is the real deal. They sell great music/audio gear for a fraction of the price and you can trust them. Something you can’t do with Craigslist.
Sorry It’s been awhile since I posted. It’s been busy around here and I’m just now starting to catch up. Renee is leaving us for LA to work with Spike TV, but before she’s moving onto bigger and better things, I got her on the screen again for Colorado Home Fitness. As always, she was amazing. you can see the spots on the Denver Video Website, or Youtube.
One of our clients is Fatburger. They have a new campaign called “Bud’s and Burgers”, geared towards the male audience of course. Originally from, Kazakhstan, the beautiful Natasha Kizmet now lives in Denver, Colorado. She is a professional model, and actress and we were lucky enough to find her for the new Fat Burger commercial. This took place in Denver Green Screen Studio. On set was Michael Anderson, Dan Knudson, and Steve. As merely an intern at Unleaded Group here in Denver, Colorado, I was completely new to all this. Setting up took only about twenty minutes since Mike and Dan have been doing this for many years and are obviously pros. They produce quality commercials and leave clients extremely happy with the final product. On top of all that, they work excellent together, and make the perfect team, while professionally getting the job done. Dan and Mike taught me the basics of how to set up the microphones, roll out the green screen, and provide the perfect lighting and sound. They also taught me what each piece of equipment was called and what it does. I learned that the green screen is green because it is the farthest color from skin tones. It is important to not wear any shade of green or anything close to green when shooting in front of a green screen. Another thing I learned is that the mike is very powerful and needs to be directly pointed at the person. If the person moves to one side or the other, the sound will not be as clear. Something I did not know is that the green screen is made out of paper which you can buy in huge rolls. I never knew just how technical the whole process was!
We took a number of shots of Natasha in three different bikini’s in order to get the perfect shot. Natasha brought a special kind of energy and charm to the set which was exactly what we were looking for. Her easygoing attitude and quirky sense of humor made the whole process a breeze. She definitely had us all laughing and in high spirits. You would never have guessed that this was her very first commercial shoot in front of a green screen. English being her second language, her adorable accent also added the perfect touch. The shoot took about two hours and we walked away with some great, usable footage. This commercial will definitely catch your attention and make you want to immediately go out and buy a burger at Fatburger. Here are some of the stills we took during the shoot.
