The steel and concrete building was considered among the finest between Kansas City and Denver. Iconic big bands including Tommy Dorsey and Jimmy Dorsey played and stayed here. The hotel coffee shop was featured in the 1958 edition of Adventures In Good Eating by food critic Duncan Hines.
